5 Beauty Products Mashion Staffers Are Using This December

Say hello to our favourite products! This is a monthly feature in which Mashion staffers discuss their favourite products — ones we’ve tried all month long, reviewed, treasured and kept at the top of our makeup bag (before we’ve gotten the chance to get sick of them and move on to other products – because we all know that happens). A new month calls for new products, so in that spirit – let’s get shopping!

Rose Hip Oil by The Ordinary

“It’s a cheaper version of the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery oil. I typically use this as the last step in my nightly routine as a sealant after toner and moisturizing. Love the way it keeps my skin very smooth, soft, and flake-free all night long.” – Seher Hafeez

Skin Type: Combination/Oily

Usage: Two-three times a week

Fresh Aloe Vera

“Aloe Vera has numerous health and skin benefits, but I love using this gel on my hair. It works great as a deep conditioner, especially now that the weather has gotten so much drier. It’s also known to repair dead skin cells on the scalp. You can easily get it from any store that sells natural stuff or grow a plant yourself (easy peasy!). ”   – Maheen Kazmi

Hair Type: Dry, wavy

Usage: Twice a week

Lush Tea Tree Toner

“Lush products usually don’t have a very long shelf life because of their all natural ingredients, but this one doesn’t have that problem. The tea tree oil in it is perfect for people with greasy and acne prone skin like mine, and it’s a really easy step to include in your skincare routine. I just spritz it on my face before moisturising and it settles in perfectly.” – Ibrahim Nadeem

Skin type: Greasy, sensitive

Usage: Everyday

Photoderm Max Sunblock by Bioderma (SPF 50+)

“It is great for sun protection and hides easily and comfortably under makeup. It’s water resistant and should be applied every day before heading out. The formula rubs in reasonably well on my skin, though it leaves a slightly tacky layer that goes away when I dab some translucent powder.” – Rimsha Shafiq

Skin type: Very dry skin

Usage: Everyday

Cocoa Body Butter by The Body Shop

“I’ve got combination skin and this keeps my skin soft and moisturized for hours. I use it twice a day but since the weather is so dry these days, I use it as or when needed. It has an amazing fragrance and the chocolaty essence is just so heavenly. Might feel a bit slimy in the tub, but it absorbs into the skin quickly.”-  Hajra Mushtaq

Skin Type: Combination

Usage: Everyday
